The destruction of the hurricanes in the Caribbean can be seen everywhere. Very happy that The Wreck of the Rhône survived. Beautiful dive on this wreck just of Salt Island in the BVI’s. This Royal Mail Ship sank on 29 October 1867 in a hurricane killing 123 people. This “unsinkable “ ship hit a rock and water rushed over the steam boilers which then exploded. Fascinating story. Only the crew survived and one passenger who could swim through his porthole that was blown open in the explosion.

Preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Getting ready for Irma's possible arrival early next week. We have a good hurricane plan and will be ready if it hits, so we are not overly concerned. We will be moving over to the other side of the island to go hide out and hopefully find some surf! ~
