Just me, my book, and the sunshine on the upper terrace for a while.
Sure darling, I’ll call you if I spot whales puffing in the bay.

Oh that’s so sweet of you – I’d LOVE you to bring me up a glass of Viognier and a little plate of cheese and bread just now!

The kids are off thrifting and café-hopping in Kalk Bay, the cousins only arrive around 6 to braai… So maybe G&Ts and fire-lighting later?

Yes, Gentry is a deluxe suite, my darling – but that wasn’t quite what I meant.

Oh, well, I guess it’s more about the poetry of a room – the way it holds a certain magic that’s so... true, and soulful.

Like every morning, I sit in the window seat and open the window and the sea air feels like silk on my skin, and it’s like… everything is in its right place.

And when you sit in that perfect blue chair? My word. Could you be any more handsome?

It’s more than a deluxe suite. I feel a magic here that holds the very best of us, my love.

Kalk Bay Modern is one of the Mother City’s best-kept secrets, and an incredible gallery to explore at leisure. Upstairs from tapas mecca Salt, Kalk Bay. it’s a treasure trove of ceramics, jewellery and textile art and is currently showing a beautiful exhibition called ‘Art on Paper’ featuring work from luminary William Kentridge and esteemed local artists Judy Woodborne and John Murray amongst other greats.

The all-time best artwork? The panoramic view of Kalk Bay harbour through shimmery salt-kissed windows.

This beautiful weather has definitely put a spring in our step ☀️

Muizenberg, St James and Kalk Bay are going to be buzzing today so we’re enjoying a bit of quiet before the neighbourhood baristas get really busy. We can already hear the delicious sounds of coffee machines, baking bread, frying eggs and sizzling bacon!
