Did you know Botswana doesn't fence its wildlife. 🐘

National parks and reserves make up around 17% of the country, with another 20% set aside as wildlife management areas — so animals roam freely across huge connected ecosystems. In the north, elephants and predators move between Chobe, the Okavango, Linyanti and Savuti following the water.

So the "drive between camps" sometimes turns into the best game drive of the day. Elephant traffic jams included.

Spotting lion cubs in Etosha is something else. Lionesses give birth year-round, but the best months to actually see cubs out and about are June to October — the dry season pulls prides to the waterholes, and the little ones come along for the ride.

No safari vehicle. No fences between you and the wildlife.�Just wide open plains and dramatic Rift Valley cliffs rising above you.

It’s one of the few parks in Africa where this is possible — and it completely changes how you experience the wild.
And yes — it’s safe. The park has no large predators, which is why cycling and walking safaris are allowed here.
