Effective 1 June, Chapman’s Peak Drive no longer accepts magstripe (swipe) card payments at its toll plaza lanes. This includes fleet cards, unless they are equipped with an active contactless (tap-to-pay) function.

How to pay at Chapman’s Peak Drive:
✔ Cash
✔ Tap-enabled debit and credit cards
✔ Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay
✔ Frequent User and Wild Card

If your bank card does not support contactless payments, please contact your bank to upgrade your card.

⚠️ TRAFFIC NOTICE: CHAPMAN’S PEAK DRIVE ⚠️

Please be advised that there is currently a temporary stop-and-go system in place at the Half Tunnel on Chapman’s Peak Drive due to maintenance work.

⏱ Delays of approximately 2–3 minutes can be expected until midday.

🚧 The sea-side lane is currently occupied for maintenance operations.
✅ The mountain-side lane remains open for traffic travelling towards Hout Bay.

Motorists planning and scheduled for travelling on Chapman's Peak Drive should please expect short delays and proceed with caution.
