Pius Xulu , better known as MidTempoLover, is the visionary behind the renowned . Launched in 2012, the www.deejayslounge.podomatic.com podcast quickly climbed to the number one spot in the global electronic music Deep House charts and became a platform for South Africa’s rising DJ/producers, including Oscar Mbo, Soultronix Deep, Exte C, KnightSA, and TimADeep to name but a few. Building on this success, the Deejays Lounge Movement was established in 2007, hosting events in Rustenburg and across South Africa. Join the movement on Deejays Lounge Sessions Lovers and share your work.

Over the years, has performed at a wide range of venues — from suburban, clubs and township gatherings to corporate functions and private parties. His sets have lit up stages at respected establishments such as Club Paradise, Pitso’s Kitchen, Spineroad Lifestyle, Kwa Ace, Marvel Bar, Sgt Pepper, Bud Lounge, Casa Bar and Kefu’s Lounge to name but a few.

His love for music began in childhood, nurtured by a musical family in KwaZulu-Natal. For Pius, music has always been a refuge — a source of joy in good times and comfort in moments of sorrow. His playful, childlike approach to life is reflected in his music style, which is both fresh and timeless. Known as a die-hard MidTempo lover, he blends a wide spectrum of house music, including Lounge, Ancestral, Tribal, Deep House, Deep Tech, Dub, and Garage. He especially enjoys fusing old-school classics with modern sounds.

Beyond deejaying, is a versatile creative. He lends his voice to radio and television through voiceovers, features in TV adverts, and contributes to various media projects — solidifying his role as a dynamic figure in South Africa’s music and entertainment scene.
