WOMEN’S MONTH STARTED WITH A POUR! 🥂✨

Earlier this month, 🍷 Mnandi Times Experiences Experiences had the pleasure of bringing a premium wine experience to the The Planner Guru Women in MICE Awards in Pretoria.

What a beautiful way to kick off Women’s Month — celebrating, recognising and raising a glass to the incredible women who continue to shape and move the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events industry forward.

Guests were invited to slow down, sip, connect and experience a taste of the Cape Winelands through a beautiful selection of wines and destinations from across the Franschhoek and Paarl wine routes.

Franschhoek Wine Valley was represented by Wildeberg Wines and Mont Rochelle Wines, showcasing stunning wines and unforgettable vineyard getaways. La Roche Estate Wines brought the promise of a beautiful large event and picnic venue, while Adara Boutique-Hotels from the Paarl Wine Route added another special destination to the journey.

Because Mnandi Times Experiences is not only about stories and tastings from the vineyard.

We seek to immerse you in the vast Cape wine route journey — from the wines and landscapes to the people, venues, hospitality and experiences that make each destination unique.

For us, wine is never just about what is in the glass.

It is about people.
It is about place.
It is about connection.
And, most importantly, it is about creating memorable experiences.

Congratulations once again to all the nominees and winners, and to every woman doing the work, making things happen and opening doors for those coming behind them.

WE’VE BEEN QUIET… BUT WE’VE BEEN OUTSIDE! 🍷🚌

It’s been a little quiet on our social media pages, but behind the scenes, 🍷 Mnandi Times Experiences Experiences has been moving!

So, over the next few days, we’re catching you up on some of the incredible wine experiences, events and partnerships that have kept us busy.

First up: the C&L Travel Collection Luxury Lodges Travel Workshop, held at the Lord Charles Hotel in July.

We had the pleasure of bringing a premium wine tasting experience to the workshop with the beautiful wines of Wildeberg Wines - the Coterie range being the firm favourite. Guests got to sip, discover and enjoy stories from the Cape — all while connecting with people from the travel and hospitality industry.

And while Cape Town will always be home, Gauteng has been pumping! 🔥

The Mnandi bus has been on the move, bringing wine tourism experiences to Jozi and Pretoria and creating opportunities for more people to discover exceptional South African wines beyond the traditional tasting room.

Because sometimes, if the people can’t get to the vineyards…

We bring a little bit of the vineyards to them. 🍇🍷

And trust us — this was only the beginning.

From heartbreak came hope. From loss came legacy.

There are moments that remind us why we do what we do.

On 31 July 2022, the Mavhungu Family experienced every parent’s worst nightmare when they lost their son. Four years later, that same date has become something extraordinary - not because the pain has disappeared, but because they chose to honour his memory by bringing life, hope and community together.

Their annual free community run is a gift to everyone who takes part. No entry fee. Just open hearts.

Runners are welcomed with breakfast, refreshments every 5km, a traditional African lunch featuring inyama yentloko, and an evening braai where stories are shared, friendships are strengthened, and memories are made.

It is a powerful reminder that generosity isn’t defined by wealth. Some of the greatest acts of giving come from people who simply choose to make a difference.

Big up to Rainbow Simply Chicken for making race morning seamless by handling the logistics of transporting runners to the start line. It’s these behind-the-scenes contributions that make community events like this possible.👌🏼

A heartfelt thank you to Wildeberg Wines for once again sponsoring the winners’ prizes and for hosting a well-deserved wine tasting after the demanding 31km journey. Bringing people together over exceptional South African wine is what we love most.

To the incredible Malmesbury Tourism running community - thank you for embracing us as family. We’ll gladly make the journey back for your annual Runner’s Year-End Party.

The Mountains Were Waiting. Our Runners Were Ready. 🏔️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

The start of the THE COGMANS was… an interesting one. 😅🏔️

The DJ and commentator were on a serious high, bringing the energy, while the runners stood quietly cool, staring straight at the imposing mountain range ahead of them.

Because they knew.

Those mountains had to be conquered. 😳🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

It was probably the quietest start to a trail run that Mnandi Times has ever experienced. The energy was loud… but the runners? Calm. Focused. Ready. 😮‍💨

And then they went.

Our runners — locals and international guests alike — took on the mountains and conquered! 🏆🇿🇦🌍

Every single one of you is a champion. You showed up, pushed through and made it to the finish line. 👏🏾🔥

And what better way to celebrate a day of victory than with the Springboks securing the win against Wales! 🇿🇦🏉💪🏾

A weekend of mountains, running, wine, travel and a whole lot of Mnandi memories — and even some wine tourism, with AA Badenhorst Family Wines wines hosting a tasting and sales stand. 🍷✨

You came. You ran. You conquered. 🏔️🏃🏾‍♀️🏆

The road to Montagu was already an experience before we even got to the start line. 🚐🏔️🍷

Our Mnandi-hosted guests hit the road for a beautiful drive through the majesty of the mountains, with a few very important stopovers along the way. 😝

First stop: Ou Meul Bakery and Cafe for pre-race nutrition — and, naturally, a stock-up on Fabrica Do Prego sauce for the post-race braai. Because the run may be hectic, but the braai must still be properly sauced! 🔥🥩😝

Then came a very necessary wine hydration stop at Du Toitskloof Wines.🍷💧

By the time we arrived in Montagu, we thought we were seasoned wine enthusiasts. That was until we discovered… Red Muscadel! 😳🍷

Haibo! What a discovery.

A huge thank you to Anneen from Wildeberg Wines (who know no geographical wine region boundaries) for giving our team such a warm welcome, together with Montagu Winery and their delicious Red Muscadel. It was the perfect introduction to Montagu — and perhaps the perfect preparation for the hectic mountain runs waiting for us the next day! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🏔️

The journey was already giving Mnandi. And we hadn’t even started running yet. 😅

🇫🇷🥂 Vive la Bastille!

There is something truly magical about the Franschhoek Bastille Festival. The streets come alive with a sea of blue, white and red, live music fills the air, friends gather over great food, and every glass tells the story of the valley’s world-class wines.

From discovering exciting new vintages to revisiting old favourites, the day was a celebration of everything that makes Franschhoek South Africa’s Food and Wine Capital.

A highlight for us was tasting the exceptional wines of Wildeberg Wines, the 2022 and 2023 Prescient Winery of the Year, alongside outstanding producers including Allee Bleue Wine Estate, Chamonix Estate, Dieu Donne Vineyards, GlenWood Vineyards and many more boutique wineries that continue to showcase the remarkable diversity of the Franschhoek Wine Valley.

Adding to the festive French flair, our partners Arendse.Ink, Thesis Lifestyle (all the way from Soweto👌🏼) ensured we looked the part with beautifully crafted fashion pieces inspired by the occasion. Thank you for helping us celebrate in style.
