Sam's recent visit to Gorongosa National Park with Gorongosa Safaris showcased why this remarkable destination is one of Africa's most inspiring conservation success stories. Last week, the team had the opportunity to visit Goal 50 in Hanover Park, Cape Town, one of Uthando’s incredible community projects. They have already completed Phases 1 and 2 and are currently busy working on Phase 3.

The project has created a school for local children, built using recycled materials and tyres. Livingstone Safaris was proud to donate 10 tyres to help support the project. It is truly amazing to see what Uthando and the local community are achieving together.

On our way back to the office, we also popped into an Eye Love Africa event just around the corner, where we had the opportunity to witness one of their glasses handovers to members of the local community. It was wonderful to see another organisation making such a meaningful difference in the lives of people in the community.

Teresa and Melissa recently spent a night at the ever-popular Babylonstoren and came away thoroughly impressed by the breadth of experiences on offer at this iconic Cape Winelands estate. Blessed with beautiful winter weather, they enjoyed a site inspection of the suites, cottages and spa before settling into a spacious Two-Bedroom Fynbos Cottage, where the privacy, mountain views and use of an electric golf cart added to the experience.

Highlights of their stay included an insightful wine cellar tour and tasting, a memorable evening of exceptional dining and entertainment, and a visit to Soetmelksvlei, Babylonstoren’s immersive working farm that brings Cape farming heritage to life. Juan recently had a wonderful lunch at Cape Point Vineyards and was very impressed by the overall experience. The service was excellent, with head waiter Mitchell providing attentive service and sharing his impressive knowledge of the wines. As a Sauvignon Blanc lover, Juan particularly enjoyed the 2024 Reserve. The beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, combined with the winter sunshine and spectacular views across Noordhoek Beach, made for a relaxed and memorable afternoon. Highly recommended as a lunch stop during a Cape Peninsula tour.
