Effective May 7th, all US travelers will need a Real ID to travel. To comply with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) REAL ID requirements, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID card, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another TSA-accepted form of identification at airport security checkpoints for domestic air travel. For individuals still needing a REAL ID, the process of getting a REAL ID and what documents necessary depends on the state of residence. Make sure you check your local requirements.

A new mandatory refund rule for US Domestic flights went into affect last week. The new rule mandates that refunds are automatically processed by an airline if a passenger’s flight is “canceled or significantly changed, and they do not accept the significantly changed flight, rebooking on an alternative flight, or alternative compensation.”

The Department of Transportation says airlines must then refund a passenger within seven business days if they bought a ticket on a credit card and within 20 calendar days if they used another form of payment. These refund should be initiated automatically and Airlines could be fined for violations.
