Who said the Devils pool is only for the young ones? Most people think this experience is only for the young.

Our guests prove otherwise.

Sitting safely at the edge of Devil’s Pool in Livingstone , Zambia, guided by experts, fully supported, and absolutely loving every second.

Africa isn’t about age.
It’s about trust, timing, and the right team.

We design private, carefully curated journeys for travellers who want to experience Africa properly safely, comfortably, and meaningfully.

Would you do this?

Parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga have experienced a year’s worth of rainfall in just 70 hours due to a powerful low-pressure system drawing moisture from the Indian Ocean.
Runoff from the Drakensberg Escarpment has led to widespread flooding along river systems—impacting communities, access roads, and safari lodges.

🚫 Kruger National Park has been closed since 15 January 2026, with over 26 lodges near Hoedspruit currently currently inaccessible.

In situations like these, wild animals instinctively move to higher ground during flooding events, meaning wildlife losses are usually minimal (although hippos and crocodiles do tend to change address)

Moments like these highlight the importance of expert, on-the-ground tour operators. While many travellers rely on AI tools and online bookings, real events require experience, local networks, and immediate action.

Travel in Africa requires flexibility, insight, and trusted experts behind the scenes.

Our thoughts are with the affected communities, guides, lodge teams, and travellers. We remain hopeful that conditions will improve soon.

Severe Flooding in Limpopo & Mpumalanga.

Due to a low-pressure system and heavy moisture from the Indian Ocean, parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga province have received a year’s worth of rainfall in just 70 hours. Runoff from the Drakensberg Escarpment has caused major flooding along river systems, affecting communities, lodges, and access routes.

Kruger National Park has been closed since 15 January 2026, with over 26 lodges near Hoedspruit currently inaccessible. Conditions remain critical as rain continues.

Wildlife is generally not severely affected, as animals move to higher ground—though hippos and crocodiles do tend to “change address.”

Events like these highlight why using professional tour operators matters. While many travellers rely on AI and online bookings, situations like this show the value of experienced agencies who can assist, relocate guests, and ensure safety much like during COVID.

There’s something incredibly special about welcoming guests back to Africa especially when it’s their third journey to our continent and booking with us. This heartfelt review from our returning clients means the world to us, a reminder of why we do what we do and how meaningful thoughtfully curated experiences can be.

This is what they wrote:

‘’We had a fabulous morning on a street art tour in Maboneng with Ayanda from City Skate Tours.
Thank you to Africa Explore Safaris for helping us find such an incredible guide for this unique experience.

The power of street art, for power of street art, for us, is you get a real feel of what’s happening in the communities you are visiting. I cannot advocate for these kinds of tours enough! If you are a fellow traveler, put them on your radar! 💜’’

If you’re dreaming of an African journey that’s personal, meaningful, and thoughtfully curated, we’d love to design it with you.

We arrived in Hoedspruit at the beautiful Kuname Safari Lodge in the heart of Karongwe Private Game Reserve and instantly knew the journey was worth it.

Day 1 on safari delivered breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable wildlife moments, and that magical African bush atmosphere that makes every safari completely unique. We ended the day with a traditional Boma dinner under the stars ✨.

We ended the day with an authentic Boma dinner under the African stars, the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the rhythm of the wilderness. These images capture only the beginning of the journey…more safari magic still to come 🐘🌿🦓🦒🌍
