🌴💙 MY BLUE HOTEL • NUNGWI, ZANZIBAR 🇹🇿

Another beautiful find from my Zanzibar site inspections! ✨

What I loved about My Blue is the wonderfully relaxed, tropical feel. The resort is surrounded by exceptionally lush gardens, swaying palms and beautiful tropical greenery, giving it that real island feel. 🌴🌺

There are two pools, including one right on the beachfront, so you can literally relax beside the pool while looking out over the turquoise Indian Ocean. 💦🌊

I also loved the Zanzibarian-style architecture, with traditional thatched roofs and natural finishes that blend beautifully into the tropical surroundings.

And then there’s Nungwi Beach — beautiful white sand, warm turquoise water and those unforgettable Zanzibar sunsets. 🌅💙

After visiting My Blue myself, I think it’s a lovely choice for anyone wanting a relaxed, tropical Zanzibar holiday with plenty of character and a fantastic beachfront location.

The Mora Zanzibar — a village of its own on Muyuni Beach
Tucked on the powder-white sands of Matemwe, overlooking the turquoise waters toward Mnemba Island, The Mora Zanzibar is one of the newest additions to the island's luxury scene — launched in 2024 as TUI's flagship upscale brand, and already a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
What struck me most on our site inspection was the scale, and how little it still feels intimate. With around 250 suites spread across a generous, beautifully landscaped property, this is very much a "village" resort — distinct pockets to relax in, established gardens, and a real sense of space rather than a wall of rooms. Between the multiple restaurants (including a lively Teppanyaki spot), all-day ice cream parlour, several bars and cafés, and evening entertainment, guests are spread out enough that even on a rainy day — when everyone was off the beach and indoors — nothing felt crowded or oversubscribed.
Families are genuinely well catered for: a lovely kids' club for the younger ones and dedicated entertainment for teens, so parents can properly switch off. The beach itself is magnificent, with Mnemba Island as a permanent backdrop, and Zanzibar's reliable trade winds mean kitesurfing is an easy option to arrange for guests who fancy it.
Staff throughout were attentive and warm, the food was excellent across the board, and for a resort of this size, it manages something rare — you'd never guess how many guests are actually staying there.

🌴 A first look at one of Zanzibar’s newest luxury arrivals… 🌴

I’ve just had the opportunity to do a site inspection at the brand-new Iberostar Selection Zanzibar on the beautiful Muyuni Beach, on Zanzibar’s north-eastern coast — and what an impressive addition to the island!

This is a BIG resort, with an incredible beachfront setting, beautiful sea-facing accommodation, six swimming pools and a fantastic choice of dining.

And for me, one of the biggest attractions is the All-Inclusive concept. There’s a wonderful variety of restaurants to choose from, including Italian, Indian, Asian/Teppanyaki, a grill, a beachfront restaurant and the main Karibu buffet — so guests have plenty of opportunity to dine around during their stay.

Families have been very much considered too, with Star Camp, children's facilities and a water-park element. I can see this being particularly appealing to multi-generational families who want to holiday together, but still have plenty of options for different ages and interests.

There’s also a spa, fitness centre, yoga, diving, water sports, tennis and padel — so there really is something for everyone.

The resort is currently being introduced ahead of its official opening on 1 November 2026.

As a travel advisor, these site inspections are so valuable. It means I can give my clients genuine first-hand advice — and help match the right resort to the right holiday.

And honestly… that beach! 🌊🤍

✨ DIAMONDS BIJOUX – ZANZIBAR 🌴🌊

What a little gem on the south-east coast of Zanzibar! 💎

Set on the beautiful beachfront at Bwejuu, Diamonds Bijoux is a brand-new luxury all-inclusive resort that opened in 2026 — and it is absolutely stunning.

The beach is magnificent… endless white sand, turquoise Indian Ocean and that wonderfully unique Zanzibar experience where the tide moves dramatically in and out. At low tide, the ocean retreats and reveals another side of the coastline, before slowly returning to create that picture-perfect tropical beach again. Rather than being a negative, I think it adds so much character and charm to a stay here. 🌊🐚

The resort itself is beautifully and tastefully furnished, with a lovely blend of modern luxury and Swahili-Arabic influences. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, beautifully appointed and many enjoy gorgeous ocean views. The 46m² Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites are particularly impressive, while the larger Suites offer a generous 90m² of space.

And then there is the food! 🍽️
The dining experience has been exceptional — plenty of choice, beautifully presented and catering to a variety of tastes. There are multiple restaurants and bars, including the Ocean Terrace, rooftop cocktail bar and speciality dining experiences.

But what has really stood out to me is the people ❤️

The staff could not be friendlier. Almost every person you meet has a smile on their face, and they genuinely seem to go out of their way to make sure you are happy. That warmth and hospitality makes such a difference.

There is also a beautiful spa, huge swimming pools, fitness centre, water sports, diving, kids' club and plenty of opportunities to simply switch off and enjoy the Zanzibar sunshine.

As a travel agent, this is exactly why I love coming to destinations and experiencing the properties myself. You can only really recommend a hotel when you have felt it, tasted it and experienced the service for yourself.

And Diamonds Bijoux has certainly impressed me. 💎🌴

Zanzibar Bound 🌴✈️

I’m off to Zanzibar for the next week and while it may look like a holiday, this is an important part of my job as a travel advisor! 🌍
