A beautiful reminder that the best travel memories are often the ones you never plan for. ❤️
Feeling so fortunate to have stumbled upon this gorgeous Italian wedding in Sorrento. The romance, tradition and beauty were pure Italy. 🇮🇹✨

From Cinque Terre on a 7-hour train ride straight to Naples. 🇮🇹
We only planned to spend one night here, but Naples surprised us. Affordable accommodation, incredible food, authentic pizza on every corner, and an Old Town bursting with character, history, aromas and energy. Sometimes the best thing to do is simply stand still on a cobbled street and watch Naples unfold around you.
From the waterfront, with views towards Capri, the Amalfi Coast and the shadow of Vesuvius, it's a city that gets overlooked by many travellers. Don't make that mistake. Give Naples at least 24 hours — it's chaotic, colourful, delicious and unforgettable. ❤️🍕🇮🇹

One thing that really surprised us about Lake Como was how reliably and smoothly the ferry system operates. Ferries run frequently, are generally on time, and make it easy to explore the towns around the lake. You can purchase a one-way ticket for around €5–€6, or a day pass for approximately €17, which allows unlimited travel and multiple stops throughout the day.

We visited Menaggio, a beautiful lakeside town directly opposite Varenna. While it has the same charm, stunning views, and relaxed atmosphere, we found it noticeably more affordable for food and drinks. It also felt authentic, with more locals and fewer tourists than Varenna.

Menaggio can be slightly less convenient to reach, as it doesn't have a train station like Varenna. Most visitors arrive by ferry or bus, which helps keep the crowds down. If you're looking for a quieter, more laid-back Lake Como experience without sacrificing scenery or charm, Menaggio is well worth a visit.

Today’s Lake Como highlight was on the iconic steamboat, Concordia. With its vintage charm, polished woodwork and gentle paddle-wheel rhythm, it offered a glimpse into the golden age of travel.

Today was a slower start with breakfast at the Airbnb — yogurts, fresh fruit and goodies we’d picked up from the little corner grocery shop nearby. We headed down to the ferry terminal expecting complete chaos, as social media had warned us that Lake Como in summer is unbearably busy. Well, we were pleasantly surprised.

We didn’t check ferry departure times, hadn’t booked tickets online, and simply strolled to the terminal and hopped straight onto the first ferry. It was all incredibly easy and stress-free.

We took the ferry across to the very famous Bellagio — often called the “Pearl of Lake Como” because of its beautiful waterfront setting, elegant villas, colourful lanes and spectacular views where the three branches of the lake meet. The ferry ride from Varenna to Bellagio takes only about 15 minutes and cost us €11 return.

Prices around Bellagio were fairly much what you’d expect for a popular tourist destination — toasted sandwiches around €7, pasta dishes €15, beers about €6, and limoncellos, Aperol spritzes or glasses of wine roughly €8 each.

After wandering through the little streets and soaking up the atmosphere, we once again boarded the ferry with no queues at all and headed back to Varenna, where we settled into our Airbnb for a quick afternoon nap before heading out into the village to find a small authentic Italian restaurant for dinner.

We chose to stay in Varenna whilst at Lake Como. Its the most convenient with train access from Milan, easy ferry connections to all the sights including hotspots like Bellagio. It is the perfect blend of picturesque charm and practical logistics. Quaint cobbled streets with waterfront restaurants and bars

Out of Office… but fully in the moment 🇮🇹✨

For the next 2 weeks I’ll be exploring Italy with three incredible friends collecting experiences, laughter, stories, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Travel reminds us how important it is to pause, connect, discover new places, and appreciate the people we share the journey with. Some of the best memories are made simply by saying yes to an adventure with friends. ❤️

It’s about the moments, the people, the culture, and the memories you carry home forever.

I’ll be sharing our daily adventures along the way, so follow along for inspiration.

Life is short. Take the trip. Book the ticket. Travel with friends. Make the memories. ✈️🍋☀️
