St. George's Cathedral is a profoundly significant landmark in Cape Town. It was built from sandstone quarried from Table Mountain, the cathedral is a classic example of Gothic Revival architecture, featuring a cruciform (cross-shaped) floor plan.

The foundation stone for the current cathedral was laid in 1901 by the future King George V, and the renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker was tasked with the design. Construction began in earnest in 1906, but the work was slow and spanned decades. The north transept was completed in 1936, finally bringing Baker's initial vision to life. The Lady Chapel and south aisle were finished in 1963, and the Bell Tower and the Link were added in 1978.

This is the Cape Town City Hall building. The story of the building spans its imperial origins, its role as the city's administrative heart, and its modern rebirth as a cultural and heritage venue. The construction of the City Hall from 1900 - 1905 was as the result of a public design competition won by two architects Harry Austin Reid and Frederick George Green from Johannesburg. The cornerstone was laid by Mayor Thomas Ball on 29 August 1900, though the building was not officially opened until 1905 by Mayor Hyman Liberman
