We were privileged to take part in Keeping It Wild, organised by earlier this month!🌿
This time, our focus was on restoring the campsite nestled in the village of Langkloof. This village sits at the eastern base of Gabriel's Pass, making it a perfect start point to the famous Wolfberg Arch and Tafelberg.⛰️
Unfortunately, the campsite had fallen into disrepair. A collaborative effort was put in place, and the revitalisation began! The volunteers cleared trails, rebuilt the hut, and even chopped down invasive polar trees. 🌳🌳
Sustainability and conservation does not just mean protecting the natural environment - it also means empowering local people. By rebuilding the Langkloof campsite, we may see an increase in tourism and therefore growth in the local economy.
Collaborative efforts like these are vital for the protection of both our human and natural heritage 🇿🇦
