Half Day Well Spent in the Stellenbosch Winelands

Yesterday started with a call from a client who had been referred to Cederberg Tours—a reminder that great experiences are often shared by word of mouth. We made the pickup and headed into the heart of Stellenbosch, enjoying a scenic drive through the historic Church Street and past the iconic Stellenbosch University, where oak-lined streets and beautiful Cape Dutch architecture create a timeless atmosphere.

Our first stop was Thelema Mountain Vineyards, where exceptional wines were paired with breathtaking mountain scenery. From there, we continued to Oldenburg Vineyards, nestled in one of the most picturesque valleys in Stellenbosch. Surrounded by towering mountains, rolling vineyards, and endless views, it was the perfect setting to relax, enjoy world-class wines, and take in the beauty of the Cape Winelands.

It’s days like these that remind us why we love what we do creating memorable journeys, sharing incredible landscapes, and connecting people with some of South Africa’s finest wine estates.

The first full service at Wupperthalwas held on 17 January 1830 beneath a few pear trees. But there was an urgent need for a church building and so Johann Leipoldt , along with his fellow missionary Theobold von Wurb, immediately went to work. Building a little church rural Cape- Dutch stule with simple holbol (concavo-convex) gabvommenced in 1834 in the les.on 4 May 1835 the church was inaugurated and has since that time formed the core of life in Wupperthal.
