Today we had the privilege of hosting an inspiring group of student entrepreneurs from the Bertha Centre for an immersive Khayelitsha entrepreneurial experience, with a strong focus on health-related businesses.

From learning about community-driven healthcare solutions at Iyeza Health, to exploring wellness support at Lifeline Mad Store, and understanding the role of nutrition and local enterprise through Maroro Spices the day was filled with powerful insights, meaningful conversations, and real-world learning.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students who showed up with curiosity and intention. Your energy and passion for health innovation are truly inspiring.

From vibrant streets to powerful local stories, the experience was more than just a ride it was a journey of connection, culture, and community. Today we had the privilege of hosting a powerful full-day experience with the Social Justice Learning Institute, beginning in KwaLanga and continuing through Khayelitsha.

The day was grounded in honest conversations, deep reflection, and meaningful engagement with the lived realities, histories, and vibrant cultures of these communities. From exploring spaces shaped by apartheid’s legacy to witnessing the resilience, creativity, and innovation that define these areas today, it was a journey of both learning and connection.

Moments like these remind us that social justice is not just something to study it’s something to experience, to feel, and to actively engage with.

Thank you to the SJLI group for your openness, curiosity, and respect throughout the day. It’s always an honour to walk this journey together.
