Beetles are old and small cars, but take suprisingly well to daily life! Apart from moving house, we can do shopping, road trips, and even visits to support a local indigneous nursery and social enterprise Living Roots SA. They have a wonderful variety of fynbos, succulents, veggies, and even trees!

Karoo joined for the Eendekuil Moeggeploegdag 2026, with the Eendekuil Landbouvereniging and Piketberg Veteraan Trekker en Enjin Klub for a veteran tractor and agriculture festival in Eendekuil! Camping in a classic Beetle does require some creative packing, but is certainly comfortably possible! We enjoyed a stop at the Pitstop Padstal for delicious rosterkoek, and gained a furry fan

Our page has been quiet, but we've been busy! This was the final leg home from a short West Coast roadtrip, enjoying the narrow winding ways of Bainskloof Pass in the mist. Thanks to Snow Report SA for sharing!

Karoo was chuffed to take part in the Houw Hoek Rally, organized by The Crankhandle Club. 180 or so Kms later, after stopping at Hey Joe Brewing Company, we were well taken care of by the wonderful views and premises of the Houw Hoek Hotel, celebrating the days achievements.

Alex and Tiffany chose Oliver's gorgeous burnt orange 1972 VW Beetle for their MD arrival at Somerset College last weekend. You can never go wrong choosing a Beetle for your red carpet arrival - they are cute, classic and iconic but friendly on the wallet!
