USA VISAS MADE EASIER

The US Mission in South Africa is waiving in person interviews for select non-immigrant visa
applicants. Applicants renewing a B, C, D, F, H, I, J, M, O, P, Q or R visa in the same visa class whose
previous visa expired within the last 48 months may be eligible for an interview waiver. Eligibility is
determined based on the answers provided by the applicant to questions during the online
appointment scheduling process. Criteria include:
 Your most recent visa was issued in South Africa in a South African passport and is still valid or
expired no more than 48 months ago.
 You provided 10 fingerprints at your last visa interview;
 Your previously issued U.S. visa was a full-validity visa;
 Your last visa has not been lost, stolen, or revoked;
 Your visa was not annotated with “Clearance Received;” and
 You have the same SEVIS number (for student visas).
Applicants may also qualify for an interview waiver if the applicants are under the age of 14 (with
at least one parent holding a valid visa in the same category), are over the age of 80. If you
believe you are eligible to apply for or renew your visa under the interview waiver program, you
are encouraged to call +27 87 550 2160. Customer service center agents are available Monday to
Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm local time to assist you in making your first time application or
changing your existing appointment to an interview waiver.

Airlines have updated their travel restrictions following the decision to declare the new coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The following airlines have suspended selected services in the:
British Airways has suspended its Beijing and Shanghai flights with immediate effect until April 17. Flights to and from Hong Kong remain unaffected.
Delta has suspended all its flights between the US and China until April 30. The airline will adhere to new US government requirements, which will deny entry to foreign nationals who have travelled to China within the past two weeks. There will be a temporary suspension of the daily flight between New York (JFK) and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). Service to and from Milan will resume starting on May 1 and May 2, respectively.
Air Mauritius has suspended all direct flights to Hong Kong until further notice, with effect from February 4. The travel restrictions in force in Mauritius prohibit any foreign national who has resided in, or who has travelled to and from China, the Republic of Korea, Italy, or Iran within the last 14 days boarding any Air Mauritius flight and entry or transit in the Republic of Mauritius.
KLM Air France have extended the suspension on all scheduled flights to and from Shanghai and Beijing until March 28. All flights to mainland China have been cancelled until March 29. The airlines will gradually resume operations to and from Shanghai and Beijing, alternating one daily flight to each destination from March 29. For the time being, service to Wuhan will remain suspended.
Emirates suspended flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai from February 5 until further notice. The airline cancelled all flights between Dubai and Tehran from February 26. The airline will continue operations to and from Beijing as scheduled. However, travellers will be subject to additional medical tests when departing PEK, starting February 5. From February 14, the Dubai Health Authority will conduct a COVID-19 test on passengers arriving from Beijing with Dubai as their final destination. There is a travel ban to Thailand for UAE citizens until May 31.
Air Tanzania postponed the launch of its new flight between Dar es Salaam and China until further notice. The airline planned to begin charter flights to China.
Cathay Pacific will reduce the capacity of its flights to and from mainland China by 50% and 40% of its entire network capacity until the end of March. Flight schedule changes are available here.
EgyptAir has suspended all flights to mainland China until March 14. Flights to Hangzhou, Beijing and Guangzhou are also suspended until further notice.
Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines have suspended all flights to and from mainland China until March 28. Nanjing, Shenyang and Qingdao will not be served until the end of the winter timetable on March 28. Hong Kong flights will be reduced in March.
United Airlines will suspend all services between hub airport cities and Beijing, Chengdu, Hong Kong and Shanghai from February 6 until April 30.
Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will cancel flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu and more. Effective February 1, all new visitors who have travelled to mainland China within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. Previously issued
