Every spring, the West Coast transforms into a spectacular carpet of wildflowers.
One of our favorite ways to experience it? On an e-bike through the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve.

There's something wonderfully freeing about exploring at your own pace. Stop whenever a view catches your eye, breathe in the fresh ocean air, and take in the explosion of colour that only appears for a few precious weeks each year.
It's not about racing from one viewpoint to the next.
It's about slowing down, noticing the details, and letting nature set the pace.
A beautiful reminder that sometimes the best adventures are also the gentlest.

𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 🏃‍♀️🌍

Every July, the Victoria Falls Marathon reminds us that travel isn't always about discovering new places. Sometimes, it's about reconnecting with the people who make those places so special.

For one weekend, runners, friends and tourism partners from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa come together in one of the world's most spectacular settings.
Of course, there's the challenge of the race.
But what stays with us are the conversations before the start, the cheers along the route, the reunions afterwards, and the incredible hospitality of the Victoria Falls community, who welcome everyone with the warmth and energy they're known for.

We're grateful to be part of this Southern African tourism family, alongside partners who have become friends over the years.

Here's to shared kilometres, unforgettable landscapes, and the relationships that continue to connect our region, one journey at a time 💛

Thank you, Morgan, for showing us a side of Nairobi that few visitors ever get to experience.
Not because of the places we visited.
But because of the stories you chose to share.
Through .nami , former street children have become storytellers, guides and entrepreneurs, offering visitors a deeply personal perspective on downtown Nairobi.
It's not a history lesson. It's not a sightseeing tour. It's a conversation.

One that challenges assumptions, changes perspectives, and reminds us that behind every city are people whose lives have shaped it in ways no guidebook could ever explain.

What we appreciated most wasn't simply learning about Nairobi. It was meeting Morgan.

Listening to his journey, seeing the city through his eyes, and witnessing how a difficult past has been transformed into purpose, dignity and hope for the future.

At 7th Sense Encounters, these are the experiences we believe in.

When you visit Amani ya Juu in Nairobi, you're not simply walking into a beautiful craft shop.
You're meeting remarkable women.
Women like Ingrid, who fled Rwanda as a child during the genocide, rebuilt her life in Kenya, and learned to sew at Amani after years of uncertainty and loss.
Today, every bag, every garment and every handcrafted piece tells a story of resilience, dignity and new beginnings.

What makes this visit so meaningful isn't just the craftsmanship, it's the opportunity to meet the women behind it, hear their stories, and understand how creativity can become a pathway to independence and hope.

After visiting the workshop, take a moment in the peaceful tea garden and reflect on the people you've just met.

At 7th Sense Encounters, we encourage travellers to shop differently. Not just to support local artisans. But to meet them. Because once you've put a face to the craft, you never see it the same way again.

Congratulations to Sarah Barratt of .safari, recently crowned Safari Guide of the Year 2026, only the second woman to receive this prestigious title in the competition's 15-year history.

With 15 years of guiding experience and a background in anthropology, Sarah represents a new generation of safari guides.
For her, guiding isn't simply about spotting wildlife.

It's about helping people understand the delicate connections between animals, landscapes and people. It's about storytelling, curiosity, conservation and creating moments that stay with guests long after they've returned home.

Her achievement is a wonderful reminder that some of the most inspiring leaders don't stand behind a desk.

They walk the bush, share their knowledge with generosity, and help others fall in love with the natural world.
Here's to Sarah, and to all the women whose knowledge, courage and generosity make every journey a little richer.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆

Last month, our team spent a week exploring Nairobi, preparing a future business immersion programme.

Of course, there were hotel visits, venue inspections, and plenty of meetings.

But what stayed with us were the stories.

The city's fascinating railway heritage. Its unexpected role during both World Wars.
Beautiful historic hotels that have welcomed travellers for generations. Coffee roasteries, vibrant food markets, and passionate local entrepreneurs shaping a city that's constantly evolving.

And then there's one of Nairobi's greatest surprises.
Just twenty minutes from the city centre, the urban skyline gives way to the open plains of Nairobi National Park, where giraffes, rhinos and lions roam against a backdrop of skyscrapers. It's a contrast unlike anywhere else in the world.

This wasn't just a site inspection.

It was the beginning of discovering a destination full of character, energy and unexpected encounters. We're excited to keep exploring, and even more excited to start sharing Nairobi with our guests !

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 🌸

Last summer, wildfires swept through parts of the Grootbos Nature Reserve.
While devastating to witness, fire is also part of the natural cycle of the fynbos. It clears the old, returns nutrients to the soil, and creates the conditions for new life to emerge.
This winter, that resilience is expected to reveal itself in spectacular fashion.
A fynbos superbloom, a rare event that only happens every 15 to 20 years, is expected to peak during July and August, transforming the landscape into a sea of colour.
It's a beautiful reminder that nature often comes back stronger.
If you're planning to visit the Cape this winter, this could be one of those once-in-a-generation moments to experience.

In Cape Town, we love introducing our guests to inspiring local women who are passionate about their craft. One of them is Lindsay Rigg, founder of Lady Cobbler, who welcomes visitors into her workshop for an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and plenty of laughter.
Together, you'll design and make your own pair of leather sandals, guided by Lindsay's expertise and craftsmanship. No rush, no pressure, just a chance to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy the process.
Add a glass of local wine or a craft gin, and it quickly becomes one of those experiences people talk about long after the trip is over.

What we love most is that it's not just about the sandals. It's about meeting the people behind Cape Town's creative scene, hearing their stories, and connecting through shared experiences.
