In Cape Town, Youngblood is much more than a beautiful space to gather.

Behind the galleries, open spaces and creative energy is the a non-profit organisation created to give emerging artists across disciplines a platform to grow, gain exposure and work towards becoming self-sustainable.

And that changes the way we see the venue.

Bring a group here for a guest speaker session, an art workshop, music or dance, and the setting becomes part of the experience: surrounded by local creativity, in a space that actively supports the people producing it.

For our university and school groups especially, we love places that can add another layer to a programme without trying too hard.

You come for the space. You discover the story behind it.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 : 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗼

Some people are simply born to do what they do.
Senzo is one of them.

He actually trained as an accountant. But nature was always there. His father spent many years as a ranger in Kruger National Park and one day handed him an application form to become a ranger himself. Around 130 people applied. Just six were selected. Senzo was one of them, and he has been guiding ever since.

Spend a few hours with him and it’s easy to understand why. His knowledge is extraordinary, but it’s the way he shares it that stays with you. His genuine fascination for every animal, plant and detail of the bush has a way of making you look closer too.
Even when a devastating storm destroyed the chicken farm he had built, Senzo kept moving forward with the same warmth, generosity and optimism that seem to define him.

Perhaps his name says it best: Senzo means “to sense, to feel.”
And that’s exactly what travelling with him is about.

Yes, he somehow found us the Big Five in around 18 hours, while looking after eight women from the tourism industry, no less. 😉

But what we’ll remember most is Senzo himself.

Because in the end, it’s the people who make the journey. 💛

At De Hoop Collection Nature Reserve, there’s no boat to board and no need to chase the sighting.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗮… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁.

Every winter, Southern Right whales return to these protected waters to mate, calve and nurse their young, turning this wild stretch of coastline into one of the world’s most remarkable land-based whale-watching destinations.

A breach in the distance. A tail above the water. A mother and calf moving slowly along the coast.

And you, watching it all unfold from the shore.

Sometimes the most extraordinary wildlife encounters are the ones where we simply stay still and let nature come to us 🌊

It's hard to explain why they feel different.
Maybe it's the endless horizons.
Maybe it's the golden dust hanging in the air.
Maybe it's simply because, after a day of exploring, they invite everyone to stop for a moment.
Conversations become quieter.
The camera is forgotten.

Someone quietly says, "Wow."
