Pics from reminded me what Simalaha and the Zambezi looked like when rain clouds gathered two years ago. This was before there was even there and I was researching the 36-page brochure on the Kavango Zambezi transfrontier conservation area. I'm still coming Gail! I wish you and the animals who rely on it good rains.

Shamwari Explorers Camp walking safaris now open for adventures and I'm lucky enough to be here with some British travellers. We sneaked up to some white rhino (knowing that the anti-poaching guys have more eyes on them than us). I got a bit of stage fright taking a p*e behind a bush but the giraffes had a good view of me and glared!

Shamwari + amazing ... Explorers Camp walking safaris open for the adventurous. We saw white rhino fairly close on foot (all the while knowing the anti-poaching guys have more eyes on those rhino than just ours). The tower of giraffe gave me a bit of stage fright as I p*ed behind a bush- they of course could see me clearly. Rustic, earthy experience - loving it.

Smooth cruisin' in a Ford Everest sport no less, all the way to Plettenberg Bay and a big surprise to find The Bungalo Plett tucked into a corner of the long white sands of the main beach and a plate of sushi waiting. What a gem.
