Established in 1971 as Constantia Travel, the name was changed to Oceanair Travel in 1980 to reflect a change in management. In 2004 XL Oceanair Travel was one of the founding companies to form the third largest consortium in South Africa, the XL Group, with members throughout the country and Namibia.
