Luck is what it looks like from the outside. From the inside, it's a guide who has spent fifteen years learning exactly how Africa moves.

This is what it means to get lucky in the bush!

Eight hours thirty from Europe. Direct.

Rwanda is the safest country in Africa, eight years running.

Kigali has been independently assessed as cleaner than London, Amsterdam and Singapore.

Trekking permits are limited to 96 people per day across the entire country. One hour. Seven metres from a gorilla family in the Virunga forest.

That's Rwanda. Of course not all of it, there's more to be discovered...

The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club started as a private home. Built in the 1930s for a love affair, the kind that required a property at the foot of Mount Kenya to properly contain it.

Winston Churchill was a member. William Holden co-owned it, built film studios on the grounds, and then did something that outlasted everything else, he launched a breeding programme for the mountain bongo, one of Africa's most critically endangered antelopes.

You can ride horses through the foothills of Mount Kenya in the morning and be back for lunch.

The mountain watches. The film studios still stand. The bongo still move through the trees at dusk.

Remember 2020? The world paused, and nature stepped forward. Cities grew quieter, birdsong returned, and wildlife moved with new freedom. For a moment, we all saw the living world with fresh eyes.

Inspired by The Year Earth Changed, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, we’re reflecting on a core principle of responsible travel: leave it better than you found it.

As Sir David celebrates his 100th year, his legacy reminds us that wonder and responsibility go hand in hand.

How will you travel differently next time?

There’s a moment at Kruger Shalati when an elephant passes beneath your room and you realise: you’ve forgotten what a “normal” hotel even feels like.

Perched on the historic Selati railway bridge above the Sabie River, Kruger Shalati’s 1950s train carriages have been salvaged, reimagined, and transformed into a one-of-a-kind safari experience. The name honours Shalati, the legendary Tsonga warrior queen.

Recognised by the Michelin Guide (2025), featured in National Geographic Traveller’s Luxury Collection, and celebrated by the World Travel Awards, Kruger Shalati is where design, heritage, and wild Africa meet.

The elephants? Unbothered as ever. A century after the first train crossed this river, the Kruger still calls the shots.

By the time the guests arrived, Cape Town was already glowing.

Table Mountain in the background. Signal Hill catching the last light of the day. The Mother City showing off a little.

But hours before that, the room looked very different.

Tables being dressed. Beautifully dressed wine stands from across the Western Cape being carefully set up. Locally handmade African pieces unpacked and displayed for guests to shop with their vouchers.

A marimba band warming up. Final touches coming together. Dinner slowly taking shape.

All brought to life in partnership with Venturescapes Events, one of our longest-standing partners.

Then the doors opened.

Glasses being filled. Music carrying through the room. Conversations getting louder.

This is the work behind the atmosphere.
Just part of what we do.

Some safari days are good.
Some are absolutely legendary.

From iconic wildlife sightings and up-close elephant encounters to unforgettable boma dinners under African skies, this recent incentive journey to Kapama Private Game Reserve Private Game Reserve in South Africa delivered the kind of moments that leave guests speechless.

And beyond the experience itself, the group also spent time giving back through a meaningful CSR visit to Makwetse Primary School.

This is what incentive travel in Africa can look like. Wild, impactful, unforgettable.
