Matt is one of the many performers at our Wild Talent Show at Cafe Roux on Thursday 11 September. It’s going to be a night not to be missed!

Expect anything from choreographed dance numbers to Masi choirs, original singer-songwriters and the rockiest cover bands in the Deep South. The curated lineup will provide a night of surprises and unexpected delights, and it’s all in aid of NatureLore Academy. So, come with a big heart, and you’ll leave with an even bigger one…

Our ‘Day out of Time’ gathering is a rare opportunity for families from our wide community to come together and enjoy an intentional celebration.



You can expect a restorative, wholesome and fun winter weekend in the exquisite Grootbos surroundings. Simplicity, relaxation and soulful offerings are the name of the game. Sink in to the sacred essence of what it is to be human in community and relish a deep winter pause.



The essence of this weekend gathering will be set on the Friday evening through an ancient Mayan story that will live through our sleep. On the Saturday morning, we will gather to ‘douse the flame’, switching off all electricity, and live for 24 hours without any technological devices or distraction. The following morning, we will ‘rekindle the fire’ for the year ahead.



Optional activities during the weekend include:

Unplugged music

Storytelling

Hike to the mystical waterfall

Yoga

Meditation

Talks

Games

Foosball, pool and table tennis tables

Plant painting and healing workshop

Optional excursion to Klipgat cave

Optional visits to Grootbos Florilegium

There are also many walks, natural swimming spots and incredible fauna and flora to discover.



Cosy accommodation along with linen is included in the price, with various options available for different sized families – stay in a room together or let the older children sleep in small dorms with friends should they prefer. Rooms will be organized on a first-come-first-served basis. There is ample indoor space with fireplaces if it happens to be a wet weekend.

A low tide and a clear day presented a wonderful opportunity to take our younger classes on our much loved foraging outing in Scarborough yesterday.


Exploring the rock pools, tasting the seaweeds, searching for mussels and other edibles on the midden where our ancestors have eaten for many thousands of years. Excitement abounded and spirits were high! A formidable experience all round.
