Algeria 2024

That´s gonna be exciting! We return to the Sahara! Another country to discover, more sand, solitude, wind and fantastic sceneries!
This time, though, a little different: We can choose: camelback or walking? We start our trip with camels and end up in 4x4s.

Our destination? Tassili N'Ajjer - desert mixed with rock formations, rock paintings and so much more to discover. We think the scenery will be absolutely mindblowing.

When? In January/February

How long? Well, 15 days to start with, after that, Andrea and I want to fly up to Algiers and explore the coast for a few more days.

Get in touch with us if you are interested, we are looking for serious, reliable expedition-members to join us!

TCHAD EXPEDITION - PART II

Today, we have some desert for you, incredible, magical, breathtaking places that we travelled through. Sometimes it felt like we are on a different planet, something like Mars or the Moon. Solitude, peace and quiet surrounded us and we could hear the Sahara talk to us - with a soft whispering wind, with the sound of shifting sands...

Chad/Tchad is not an easy country to travel in. It is strenuous and demanding. Once you leave N´Djamena, there is not much. Little markets in little towns, but once in the desert there is nothing. Often we would not have meat because there is nothing to buy. If you go into the desert, you have to take EVERYTHING with you. Sometimes we didn´t even find cheese or eggs. Just sweets and soft drinks. Life is tough here. Even compared with Sudan, Tchad is a lot poorer. Its nomadic tribes further in the desert are fierce and proud people. Getting a camera out is nearly impossible, it borders on superstition that we apparently steal their souls or may photograph them in an inappropriate way. Military presence is everywhere, we often encounter Landcruiser Pickups filled with young men in uniforms, armed with bazookas and AK47s. And there is a lot of old military equipment lying around in the desert - tanks, missiles, shells, bazookas, landmines and much more...

And yet - we enjoyed the desert a lot, the Sahara is just fascinating. So why don´t you join us for a little virtual trip through Tchad´s desert...enjoy it! There is more to follow...

TRIP REPORT "CHAD/TCHAD 2023" - What an adventure it was!

This was our first time in Chad. We had seen pictures and wanted to explore. We expected something like Sudan and yet...it was different. We were a group of 6 people and had our drivers and even cook with us - for us very unusual as normally, we drive and cook ourselves anywhere else in Africa. Rene got anxious because he couldn´t sit behind the steering wheel, Andrea was anxious because she could barely communicate with locals as French is the main language here. So a whole new experience for us. But the conclusion: We will be back to explore Chad and its desert, people and cultures more!
We have so many photos that it´s probably best to divide Chad into parts. Today we start with our first part of the trip, the SAHEL zone on our way into the desert. Enjoy the pictures!

"The Great Tchad Tour" - finally with a date in February 2023.

We are happy to announce the next desert adventure the upcoming year - a new discovery, a new adventure, more desert, inspiring rock art and fascinating scenery. Tchad has attracted us for a long time and now it´s finally time to go.
