One Day at a Time(ODAAT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and supportive meeting places for individuals and families affected by alcoholism and addiction on their journey of recovery.

As a retired blackout artist
I want my recovery hot,
fresh, like today's shower
To embrace me,
push me, pull me,
question and draw from within me
To fill my life, excite me,
enrich me, and inspire me
I want to overflow with the love and joy
that was freely given to me,
like a gushing reservoir constantly being refilled
My recovery is urgent, eager to connect with people,
who give of themselves,
laugh at their mistakes and look ahead with passion,
not back with regret
Who remain humble in triumph and take responsibility for their actions
I want to surround myself with people who know how to tenderly touch the hearts
of those who've faced life's harsh blows,
who embrace them with touches of their soul
I need to live and feel with the fervor and intensity of a pardoned death row convict.

Humanity is my religion, my spirituality;
Recovery my canvas, my joy.
