Is a robust, easy-to-grow protea, presenting its showy, deep pink, purple-centred flower heads above greyish green foliage. Protea eximia is a large, upright shrub, 2-5 m tall with a single main trunk and a rather lanky, sparsely branched growth habit, Found 3 small populations of this rare specie for Ceres (the first for me in 20 years} on the western side of Waboomsberg , 6 July 2025

also known as the nodding sugarbush or arid sugarbush, is a flowering plant of the genus Protea, in the family Proteaceae, which is only found growing in the wild in the Cape Region of South Africa. In the Afrikaans language it is known as knikkopsuikerbossie or ondersteboknopprotea It[s plentiful all over at Waboomsberg in Ceres where I found this pictutres on a rainy Sunday , 6 July 2025
