A few weeks ago in at Camp Kuzuma, we witnessed a once in a lifetime type of sighting. This type of thing is rarely seen, nevermind on the doorstep of our lodge. Wild dogs, on the hunt. This video shows one of the wild dogs, jumping into the water after an impala and killing it. Our guests, to say the least, were shaken but in awe of this incredible moment.

This coalition of three cheetah brothers is becoming a more frequent sight for Nantwich 🐾 During yesterday’s game drive through Hwange, Ndaba and JC (our Nantwich guides) spotted them just off the road — two of them play fighting in the grass and sharing a moment of brotherly love.

Incredible encounters like this are what make Hwange (and Nantwich) so special.

On an all-day game drive with Mankwe Tented Retreat to the Khwai, we came across these two lion cubs caught in a playful tussle — a great chance for guests to witness such close interaction, with one cub clearly coming out on top.

Another great reminder of why full-day drives, when you stay at Mankwe, are so worth it.

Just a few weeks ago, two new male lions were spotted on our concession at Mhara River Camp—sparking serious territorial politics among the resident pride 🦁 That very night, a roaring standoff echoed through the valley as rival groups called out to each other in the early hours of the morning.

Volume up for this one 🎙️ A few nights ago at Bumbusi, we were out on a night drive—something only possible thanks to the camp’s location on a private concession in Hwange.

The stars were out, the bush was quiet… and then came the roar. Our guests were treated not just to an incredible sighting of a lion pride, but to a deep, thunderous roar—so powerful, so close, you could feel it in your chest.
