Willem and his mate spent the weekend at the Priory Cottage. They loved it here, had several long walks and lots of garden to play in. Even had a raucous conversation with our dogs. Of course, his favorite time was in front of the fire in the evenings. Oh, his care-givers also enjoyed the weekend.

Winter in Clarens at the Priory Cottage.
I do love the Winter in Clarens. Frozen solid dog water-bowls, mist covers the valleys, the temp hovers between -2 and +2 early in the morning. Dress up well, too bad if I look like the Michelin man. Breakfast with our pals in the village and the perfect excuse to strengthen my first cup of coffee of the day with a bracing shot of Glayva. By lunchtime strip down to t-shirt and bask in the sun. And then the evenings in front of a roaring log fire, food in the tummy and glass in hand, chatting to my wife, the dogs snoring around us. What more could a man wish for? And then the best-of-the-best, a warm bed piled with duck-down duvet. Ahhhhhhhhhh!

The Priory Cottage now has a hugely efficient on-demand gas heater. You could empty the Clarens reservoir without ever running out of hot water!
