I was determined to avoid Durban City today, with traffic, road closures and thousands of people attending the new Zulu Kings Coronation at Moses Mabhida Stadium, so I was a bit surprised to arrive at the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga and find that the Royal Swazi King and his entourage had overnighted here last night. I did feel a bit like a teenage groupie but couldn't miss the opportunity for a quick snapshot! King Mswati III and his praise singer. 29 October 2022

A Huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Durban Tourism Awards public vote. I made it to the Top 7 in the Tourist Guide Category and presented to a panel of judges at the ICC in Durban today. I elected to share some information about the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve, home to 3 different types of mangroves, crabs, mudskippers, whelks, chameleons and frogs to name just a few! I'm not sure when the final results will be announced 😊
