On 22 January 1879, the peaceful hills of Isandlwana witnessed a fierce clash between 20,000 Zulu warriors and a British force of around 1,800 troops and 350 civilians. Despite being armed mostly with spears and shields, the Zulu Kingdom claimed a historic victory — a powerful reminder of bravery, strategy, and resistance.
