My first two attempts at making a comfort doll pony! The first one’s head was far too large so I tried again with smaller needles and made the jumper slightly larger. The head was much more successful the second time around. I used Esther Braithwaite’s pattern for a zebra.
These dolls are only for charity not for sale!

A few years ago my daughter was training to be a nurse and one of her rotations was an adolescent rehab center. She showed the cousellor one of my dolls and she asked if I could make some for the program. I made these. An Izzy is comfort to a range if people.

Thanks for letting me join this group. Photo of some comfort dolls I have donated but not as random drops in the community. I donated mine to the CWA ( Country Women's Association) for them to use as they wish, and also to other support groups.
This is a photo of one of my typical donations. I tend to knit a good number of them and then donate so they can be used on a CWA market stall or be donated to local groups who put together care packages for mothers with children in shelters.
I love how they come to life with each stage of production.
