Elite Firearm Licensing Specialists aims to simplify the Firearm Licence application process to ensure compliancy with the rules and regulations of the Fire Arms Control Act, 2000 (Act no. 60 of 2000). COMPLETING OF ALL NEW APPLICATIONS FOR:
Firearm(s) licenses, new and further competency certificates, duplicate licenses, permits, certificates or authorization for lost, stolen and defaced licenses. License issued to particular categories of persons - dealers, manufacturers or gunsmiths. Application for a temporary authorization to possess a firearm, accreditation for business purposes and permits to transport fi****ms and ammunition.
ESTATE FI****MS: Assisting heirs/executors in the finalization of firearm license applications in order to finalize the relevant estate.
APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL: of license(s) in terms of the previous act. Renewal of existing competency certificate and firearm licenses.

SAFE KEEPING FACILITIES: Annexure “A” Declaration in terms of regulation 86. Safe inspection – certificate in terms of regulation 86(8). Permission to store a firearm in terms of regulation 86(4).

We offer a full service of completing all the relevant SAPS application documents, incorporating supporting documentation relating to our clients individual requirements, custom designed to their type of application, ready for submitting to a fi****ms officer at your nearest police station.
3 Easy Steps
Step 1 Proficiency training:
Potential firearm owners must successfully undergo the prescribed training at an SAPS accredited training institution and obtain a training proficiency certificate. This is compulsory by law before applying for SAPS competency and valid for life. You need to have a training proficiency certificate for the relevant category of firearm that you are obtaining. Upon application at an SAPS accredited training provider and payment you will receive the study material where you can self-study at home with an open book test. Once confident you then book a time and date for your practical and closed book exam. This covers knowledge of the Fi****ms Control Act and practical firearm type training of your choice, namely: handgun, shotgun, rifle, and carbine. This will take you between 2 and 6 hours depending on the number of firearm types you have applied for. Further proficiency can be taken at a later date to cover more firearm types. We can assist with the details of an accredited SAPS training provider in your area.
Step 2 Competency certificate:
When you completed the training you immediately get issued these certificates. We then use them to complete your application documents for your SAPS competency certificate. Elite Firearm Licensing Specialists will assist in applying for the SAPS competency certificate by helping to complete the forms, provide additional information. This process is all about vetting the individual and SA citizen over 21years of age and without criminal record) for solid references from family and friends. Your competency certificates are typically valid, 5 years for handguns (self-defence only) and 10 years for occasional and dedicated sport or using handguns, rifles, shotguns and carbines. Once collected from us the SAPS competency application documents together with all the supporting documentation are fully completed and ready for submission. You submit the application to the designated fi****ms officer (DFO) situated in the area where you ordinarily reside.
Step 3 Firearm license:
After you have obtained a SAPS competency certificate for the relevant category of firearm that you are obtaining you must complete the application for a licence to possess a firearm. We will complete all the required SAPS firearm license application documents and fully motivate your application providing all the appropriate supporting documentation i.e. detailed motivation letters, documentary proof, ballistics and Safekeeping declarations with assistance on how to correctly photograph your firearm safekeeping facility. Once collected from us the SAPS application to possess a firearm documents together with all the supporting documentation are fully completed and ready for submission. You submit the application to the (DFO).

Complete applications - The service we supply include that we complete ALL SAPS required documentation and provide the relevant supporting documentation i.e. detailed motivation letter, documentary proof, ballistics and Safekeeping declaration with assistance on how to correctly photograph your firearm safe. Once collected from us the application documents are fully completed and ready for submission to the Firearm Officer at the nearest police station from where you reside.
Motivation letter only - The detailed letter we supply include reasons why the firearm will be best suited for your intended purpose with ballistics information and all the necessary supporting documentation added i.e. SAPS crime stats, Residential robbery research and hi-jacking stats.

Firearm License sections detailed below:
License to possess a firearm for self-defense (section 13). A person is allowed one (1) handgun - pistol or revolver for self-defense purposes. Application for such a license must be clearly motivated why you need the handgun and how will it best suited for you. This license is valid for five (5) years.
License to possess a firearm for occasional hunting or sports shooting (section 15). Any handgun that is not fully automatic or any rifle or shotgun that is not semi-automatic falls in this category. The maximum number of fi****ms that a person may possess under this category is four (4), which number includes one (1) firearm for self-defense. This license is valid for ten (10) years. For Hunting Rifles / Shotguns letter(s) stating that you have hunted or can hunt on a farm should the firearm license be issued or you must be an active member of an SAPS accredited association with proof that you participate or practice occasionally by means of an activities report from the association.
License to possess firearm for dedicated hunting or dedicated sports shooting (section 16). Any handgun, rifle or shotgun, which is not fully automatic, falls in this category. To qualify as a dedicated hunter or sports person the license holder must be a member of an SAPS accredited association and must have completed the specified course of that association and be issued with an FCA Dedicate status. This license is valid for ten (10) years. Applications must be accompanied with proof that you participate or practice regally by means of an activities and score sheet reports from the association.
No in advance payments required only on receipt of invoice after you have collected the compiled application documents.
