🌳✨ Meet the Tamboti — one of South Africa’s most beautiful (and dangerous) trees!
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒊 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆 (𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒂) is a well-known tree in South Africa’s bushveld and savannas.
🍃It’s easy to spot with its beautiful shiny leaves and patchy bark that almost looks like it’s been painted. In spring, it shows off with tiny flowers, and its wood has a rich reddish color that’s prized for fancy furniture and carving.🪵🍂

But — here’s the catch — the Tamboti is also a bit dangerous!
Its milky sap is poisonous and can irritate your skin, and even the smoke from the wood is toxic if you breathe it in. Traditionally, some communities used the sap for fishing and hunting because of its powerful effects.

Even with its tricky side, the Tamboti plays an important role in nature, offering shelter and food for small creatures.🐞 It’s a stunning tree that reminds us: in the wild, beauty often comes with a little bit of danger!🌳
