This is the mountain peak around which the famous, scenic road, Chapman’s peak drive is built.
It was named after a British sailor sent ashore to check for fresh water in what is now Hout Bay.

The summit has magnificent 360° views to experience the Peninsula in all its glory! ☀️

An alternative to travelling directly to Cape Town from overseas is booking your ticket to Port Elizabeth in Eastern Cape, and from there travel along the Garden route to Capetown. In Port Elizabeth you find amazing game reserves such as Amakhala. 🦁 🐘

Elsie’s Peak walk is a 2,5 km route with fabulous views of False Bay, Fish Hoek, Simon’s Town and Glencairn! The route is steep in places but requires minimal fitness.

Arniston is a picturesque seaside village only 2,5 hours drive from Cape Town. Photographers in particular are attracted to Arniston because of the sand dunes, golden beaches and intense blue of the sea. The name Arniston comes from one of the numerous ship wrecks on the coastline. Arniston sank here in 1815.
