Bob has sold Shumba Valley Guest Farm to a lovely family who are taking over Shumba Valley Guest Farm as a running concern so please do not forget Shumba when coming to the Eastern Freestate they are outside Fouriesburg near Clarens and Golden gate National Park and also near to Ficksburg.

To all our guests that have visited Shumba Valley Guest Farm, we thank you for coming to Shumba, and experiencing this beautiful part of the Eastern Freestate we appreciate all the business and meeting so many wonderful people! Our Story

Shumba Valley Guest Farm is situated in the Eastern Free state 8 km outside Fouriesburg on the R26 to Ficksburg turn off on the S293. We are close to Clarens and Golden Gate on a lovely scenic drive. Shumba is conveniently close to Calendonpoort Border Post into Lesotho and only 95kms away from Afriski Ski Resort you can also do a day trip to Katze dam. We offer 3 self catering units The Cosmos sleeps 2 adults (Queen bed) and 2 children (Bunk bed), The Zebra sleeps 2 adults (Queen bed) and the Sunflower sleeps 4 adults (one King bed (or 2 single) and (2 single beds/day beds ) and 3 self catering cottages the Falcon sleeps 5 adults(1 double bed 3 single beds) x 2 children (Bunk beds) The Franklin sleeps 6 adults(Double bed 2 single beds) and 2 adults or 2 children (Bunk bed) The Nguni cottage (Our latest cottage) sleeps 4 adults (King or 2 single) and (2 single beds) and 2 children 2 sleeper couches . Shumba is surrounded by mountains with awesome sunsets and our units and cottages overlook beautiful peaceful gardens teeming with bird life.

We have plenty place for hiking on the farm or mountain biking and for the more adventurous who have their own off road bikes, quad bikes and 4x4’s there is a nice route to follow near the Caledon river .If you want to swim in the Caledon river where our farm ends, have a picnic with the beautiful surrounding mountains around you,and have absolute peace and quite. Nearby there is a big bass dam catch and release. Bushman paintings to been seen nearby. Cheetau big cat Sanctuary nearby, play with baby lion cubs see White lions, black panthers and Bengal tigers. Iona cherry farm 20kms down the road from us where you can buy delicious cherry products all year round and fresh cherries when in season. Go on the steam train at Sandstone Estates at the Cherry festival November and Stars of Sandstone Event.
