Your 2027 passport stamps are about to get interesting.

Six places South Africans are eyeing next year, from easy favourites to a few that most people haven’t heard of yet. Swipe through and see which one calls your name. 👉

🌴 Mauritius: one of our all-time favourites, and you don’t need a visa.

✈️ Zanzibar: Airlink and FlySafair both fly direct from Johannesburg, so spice markets, Stone Town lanes and white-sand beaches are a lot closer.

🇦🇺 Perth: Qantas flies direct from Johannesburg three times a week. Australia’s sunniest city, no stopover needed.

🛕 Bali: temples, rice terraces and sunsets, visa-free for up to 30 days.

🌅 Samburu, Kenya: a quieter kind of safari, with community-led experiences and big skies. Kenya is visa-free for South Africans for up to 90 days.

Your 2027 passport stamps are about to get interesting. 🌍✨

Six places South Africans are eyeing next year, from easy favourites to a few that most people haven’t heard of yet. Swipe through and see which one calls your name. 👉

🌴 Mauritius: the reigning favourite. It was South Africans’ top international pick with Flight Centre in 2025, and you don’t need a visa.

✈️ Zanzibar: Airlink now flies Johannesburg to Zanzibar, so spice markets, Stone Town lanes and white-sand beaches are a lot closer.

Some things are worth planning a whole trip around. A carpet of tulips. A forest turned blue with bluebells. A pond of lily pads big enough to hold a child. A hillside gone gold with sunflowers at sunset.

Spring has a way of turning the ordinary into something worth crossing the world for, and every bloom on this list only lasts a few short weeks a year. Miss the window, and you wait another twelve months.

So here’s to chasing the world’s most amazing things while they’re actually there to be seen. Happy Spring Day 🌷✈️

Happy International Whale Shark Day 🐋🦈🌊

The biggest fish in the ocean and one of its gentlest.

Whale sharks can grow to the size of a bus, yet these incredible giants are peaceful filter feeders, cruising warm tropical waters in search of plankton.

And yes… seeing one in the wild is absolutely a bucket-list travel moment. ✈️

From Ningaloo Reef to the Maldives and the Philippines, there are incredible places around the world where you can encounter whale sharks responsibly, giving them space, choosing ethical operators and remembering that we’re visitors in their ocean.

Travel far. See incredible things. Leave them exactly as you found them. 💙

RESORT LIFE, MAURITIUS STYLE 🇲🇺🍹

There’s a very specific rhythm you fall into here…

Breakfast.
Beach.
Pool.
Cocktail.
Maybe another cocktail or 6. 😂
Quick shower.
Dinner.
Repeat.

One thing is for sure, you completely forget what day it is.

We’re experiencing Mauritius properly, staying in the resorts, eating the food, exploring the beaches and getting a real feel for what a holiday here is actually like.

Because “lovely pool” is one thing.

Knowing exactly where to sit for a sundowner is important travel-agent research. 😉🍹

A FEW DAYS AT VERANDA PALMAR BEACH 🇲🇺

There’s a point a few days into a holiday when a hotel stops feeling like somewhere you’ve checked into and starts feeling like somewhere you know.

You know the quickest path to the beach, where you want to sit at breakfast and your favourite spot by the pool. The staff recognise you, too.

For our group of 20, Veranda Palmar Beach has quickly become that place.

Set on Mauritius’s east coast, this colourful, intimate resort feels distinctly tropical, with white sand, swaying palms, bright buildings and the Indian Ocean right at its edge.

It’s also proved perfect for a group. Some head to the beach, others settle by the pool, while someone is always ordering a drink, heading to dinner or suggesting another cocktail. Everyone finds their own rhythm before coming back together.

But what we’ve noticed most is the people.

There’s genuine warmth in the way you’re looked after here, the little conversations, being remembered and the feeling that the staff truly care about your experience.

We were celebrating an anniversary during on our first night , and the sweetest surprise was waiting in our room, followed by another special touch at dinner. ❤️

Nothing overdone, just thoughtful, personal gestures that made an already special day even more special.

And with 20 of us here, there’s plenty more to celebrate before the trip is over. 🥂

That’s why we travel to the destinations we sell. You can look at photographs, read a fact sheet and check how many restaurants a hotel has, but you don’t really know a place until you’ve lived in it for a few days.

Until you’ve eaten there, slept there, spent lazy afternoons there and experienced the little things you’d never find on a booking page.

Veranda Palmar Beach has given us a beautiful slice of Mauritius, and we’re sure there are plenty more memories to come. 🇲🇺🌴
