We collected my guests at Maison Chablis Guest House for their non-guided Franschhoek Vineyard Hopper.

They selected the wineries they wanted to visit (see the options on www.franschhoekvineyardhopper.co.za).

They visited La Motte, Paserene Wines, Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, and Haute Cabriere Cellar.

No set itinerary.

Welma... a woman in wine

Welma has been involved in wine from early on in her career, studying agriculture in Cape Town, wine judging from UCT hosted by Michael Frijihon and traveling to France for a 10 week intense Sommelier course and receiving a Wine and Spirits Diploma in progress online and wine business from UCT.

"I am always a student of every evolving wine industry."

2018 Welma joined the South African wine tasting team in France to participate in the blind tasting championships, SA finished amongst the top 10 in the world.

In 2021 Welma took the leap of faith and followed her intuition of putting all that she learned and worked for into their family brand Atlas Swift.

"Hosting guests in my home, talking about my wine, why we decided to work with the varieties and pick the artist to help with our labels, is like carrying my heart on my sleeve, open and real and understanding that everything has led me to this point."
