A combination of double deck railway tram and tram-bus transports passengers around a loop of stops allowing them to hop-off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards and when they are ready, hop-on to continue the tour. The tour takes passengers right into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a narration focusing on the history of Franschhoek and wine cultivation in the valley and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards.

The Franschhoek Wine Tram Hop-on Hop-off Experience is one of the best ways to explore the true essence of the Cape Winelands - breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Journey through rolling vineyards in a vintage-style railway tram and open-air tram-bus, visiting some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates.

There are eight different lines on offer, and each line loops around a selection of estates, allowing you to hop-off at any stop and experience the activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or just a stroll through the vineyards. And when you’re ready, simply hop-on to continue your experience. The Hop-on Hop-Off experience includes a narration focusing on the history of Franschhoek and wine cultivation in the valley.

Our Curated Wine Experience is a must if you want to enjoy some of the finest wines and wine pairings the Franschhoek Valley has to offer.

A knowledgeable wine guide will accompany you to a selection of three wine estates for premium tastings and pairings, a cellar & vineyard tour, and a delectable three-course lunch. Our vintage-style tram, as well an open-air tram-bus, will transport you between estates for a full-day experience, which will leave you with a wealth of newly acquired wine knowledge and incredible memories.
