Our latest Booking.com review has made our whole week! 😀✨️🥂

"Why would you stay anywhere else in Franschhoek, a 10 out of 5. Before writing our review, if you are going to South Africa 'a very lovely safe place', look into driving the garden route, our first stop is Franschhoek.

Ashbourne Guest House is located at the beginning of the main street but one block back if coming from Cape town.

We stayed in the Tree tops room or the loft, a very spacious room with a king bed large siting room small entry balcony and alternate window view, the bathroom is nice & very large shower & heated floors, a good size small fridge & tv with very good reception & channel choices.

The staff very friendly & helpful,

Lovely breakfast with a choice of several cooked meals.

You are greeted with a glass of wine or spirit or something soft.

Cakes, water, juice, chocolates, jelly beans, fruit & spirits available all day.

A sensational friendly town and guest house.
Would highly recommend."

What a weekend we had! Busy and buzzing with a full house and the Franschhoek Literary Festival in town. After breakfast and guest checkouts we're going to need a little breather with a fresh cup of coffee, just to recover! 😀☕️ Very grateful for the bookings and a high-five to our fabulous team for a job well done.

Autumn decided to grant us a couple of sunny days after it was in a foul mood earlier this week! Please don't upset the season. Don't startle it. Keep a safe distance and let's just all get along for a while. 😀

We are grateful and cautiously optimistic (supported by the weather report) that the weekend is going to be glorious! Expecting 22° tomorrow and 21° on Sunday. Perfect conditions for the Franschhoek Literary Festival! 📚

The sun is out and autumn is showing off it's beautiful bright colours in our valley. Look up, look around. Take time to stand in wonder today!

We are extremely grateful for the emergency response teams and everyone working so hard to restore our village and mopping up after the heavy rains of earlier this week. You may have seen the photos of storm damage in and around town.

But now we're getting ready for a very busy, fully booked weekend and a fun Franschhoek Literary Festival. Franschhoek full steam ahead. Let's celebrate! 📚🍷✨️
