Gansbaai Tourism Visitor Information Centre. All you need to know about the greater Gansbaai area on the Cape Whale Coast.

Gansbaai’s Visitor Informaton Centre is filled with interesting and relevant information. The three friendly staff members are always on their post to help you. No question will go unanswered, no need will be unsatisfied. That’s not all, Gansbaai Tourism Bureau also has a conference facility which can be hired that can accommodate up to 80 pax.

Al is ek 'n soutie, is ek so ongelooflik trots om vandag langs my Afrikaanse familie te staan om Afrikaanse Taaldag te vier. Op 14 Augustus 1875 het die Genootskap van Regte Afrikaners in die Paarl gestig. Kom ons vier hierdie Trots Suid-Afrikaanse produk.

The Afrikaans language, from an English South African's perspective, provides us with such descriptive words that are not easy to duplicate or translate in any language and perfectly describe our South African feelings like gees, braai, howzit, lekker, kak, dof, eina, jislaaik and so many more....it is part of our everyday language across all cultures and languages in SA.
Lekker man! I'm moerse proud to be a Gansbaai Afrikenglish.

STANFORD IN BLOOM SPECIAL FREE GROUP ACCESS to the Chelsea Flower exhibit during ''Stanford in Bloom'' for staff teams, farm teams, municipal teams, old age homes, NPOs, schools, and others from within the local community. This is to make it possible for the local community members to share in the very best fynbos exhibition the world has seen! Please send your request in writing to [email protected] to see if your group qualifies and to reserve your slot. Community access is limited to 08:15 - 09:00 or 16:30 - 17:30 on Tuesday 16 September or Tuesday 23 September. Last year, local teams came in their staff uniforms and took the most beautiful photographs with a fynbos backdrop - why not do the same with your colleagues this year?

What a fantastic afternoon with Fair Trade Tourism and a number of our tourism stakeholders in the Overstrand area. White Shark Projects hosted the event and there were spectacular platters as well as delicious wine from Painted Wolf Wines at this incredible venue overlooking Kleinbaai Harbour in Gansbaai. Forty five guests attended including our Deputy Mayor, Elnora Gillion, and Overberg Tourism Manager, Frieda Lloyd.

Grace Stead, General Manager of Fair Trade Tourism, provided some very interesting insights for our tourism establishments in the Overberg on how we are able to align our brands with international standards in ethical best practice and responsible tourism that benefits our natural environment and our local communities. This applies to both small and large entities. Our local and international visitors are wanting to know our ethical standing before they transact with us without the greenwashing jargon and this certification provides internationally accepted recognition. The Overberg is perfectly placed to benefit from the positive impact this would have on the region’s tourism efforts. We are, after all, an incredible world class destination.
