Uilkraal vallei Uilkraal Vallei is a community of nature based tourism operators located in a valley where nature still takes the lead.

Uilkraal Vallei (Valley of the Owl-corral) is named after the oldest farm in this unspoilt part of the Overberg of the Western Cape, 180 km from Cape Town on the Cape Whale Coast. The Valley is draped around the Uilkraal River, which now deposits its water into the Uilkraalsdam, the only dam in the Western Cape which can carry its maximum capacity all year round. Covered with the unique "fynbos" v

egetation of the Cape Floral Kingdom, ancient indigenous forest remains, award winning vineyards and guesthouses, pastures and old homesteads, the Uilkraal Vallei is one of the last strongholds in the world where man still earns his keep while letting nature take the lead. Keep your eyes open for the beautiful pink March Lily (Amaryllis belladonna), which, as the name states, flowers in March. There should be an abundance of them coming up after the recent fires in the area, along with plenty of other colourful flowering fynbos.
