We are coming towards the final leg of the sardine run. This year started with a bang with great hopes for an epic run. The action after slowed down although there were not many bait balls but stunning whale and dolphin encounters daily. This week our groups found a newly dead pristine humpback whale and dived around it and had a world-class close-up swim round which was a very special and unique experience. Hundreds of whales migrate up the coast during the sardine run which also adds to this world class experience a world class experience! And then there are the thousands of dolphins!!!

Activity this Sardine Run has been on and off. Baitballs have been spotted throughout the run so far but the majority have been redeye which moves very fast and not in a tight ball as Sardines do. The activity picked up last week and one group even had sailfish on their baitball. Plenty of Whales everywhere as well as thousands of Dolphins and even the odd Orca has been spotted.

Right everyone!!! 1 Month to go!! :-) The last places are filling up fast so see if you can get some time off work and come down to Port St Johns for some hectic Sardine Run action!!! We have specials running and if you don't have much time on your hands and want to chance just a couple of days we can offer day trips out . It is recommended to take at least our 8 day package to get the most of the action but some of you do not have the time for this.

Time to start thinking about your sardine run visit for 2014!! 2013 saw lots of scattered action and a huge anchovy bait ball with over 200 sharks!! Although the action in General was scattered with not too many bait balls there were still thousands of sharks & dolphins and humpback whales everywhere!!!

Plenty of whales around and there is some bait ball action! The bait balls so far are red eye and not sardines which means they move rapidly and do not swim in a huge tight ball. Plenty of time though for some awesome bait ball action!!

SARDINE RUN UPDATE - No concentrated bait-ball action yet but it is early days!! Still plenty of Dolphins, Humpback Whales and Sharks in the water!!

Port at johns is starting to fill up with dive boats and crews. Lets hope it all kicks off now!!
