Chelsea blooms in Stanford

Thousands flocked to Stanford over the weekend to see South Africa’s award-winning Chelsea fynbos display, a 100m² masterpiece of 25 000 cut flowers and a waterfall. Winner of a gold medal at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the exhibit forms the highlight of the Stanford in Bloom Festival, running until 24 September. Visitors are treated to rare and iconic plants, including Erica perspicua, Orothamnus zeyheri, and Protea cynaroides. Supported by Grootbos and the local community, the festival celebrates indigenous biodiversity, green tourism, and the village’s farm spirit.
