🥾 Another successful weekend in the Gamkaberg! 🌿

Another amazing weekend spent in the mountains with an incredible group of people. ❤️

The Tierkloof Trail is still closed due to the recent storms, so once again we opted for the Jeep Track.

Day One is definitely a challenging one, with some seriously steep climbs. I call it “lippe teen die klippe” — it feels like your face is almost meeting the ground! 😂⛰️

Once you reach the Lookout Point, all the hard work is rewarded with beautiful views over the gorge. And then comes another little reward — what I call Aloe Valley. 🌵 This is the only section of the trail where you’ll find these beautiful aloes growing.

Luckily, Day One gave us mist and rain, making the conditions pleasantly cool. Trust me, you do not want to tackle this climb in the heat! 😅

A huge thank you to everyone who joined me and made this another unforgettable weekend. Your smiles, support, laughter and determination are what make these adventures so special.

What a beautiful day in the Little Karoo! 🌿

The road is mostly closed due to the recent storms, but we were fortunate enough to walk it today.

Stunning rock formations, beautiful vegetation, plenty of water, and a few waterfalls made this an incredible experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this amazing walk! 🥾🌄

And a special thank you to the lady on the road who gave us a KitKat and an excuse to take a well-deserved break! 🤣🍫

I also want to thank Barry from Meijer’s Rust for letting us park our vehicles. They have stunning accommodation and camping spots.🏕️🚘

Hiking the Fish River Canyon 🥾🏜️

If you’re planning to hike the Fish River Canyon in the future, I highly recommend adding these three items to your packing list. They proved to be incredibly useful on the trail!

🦟 HIKERS HEAD NET
There can be plenty of insects in the canyon, especially when there’s lots of water around. And believe me… they absolutely LOVE your face! 😂 A head net can make a huge difference.

🧣 BUFF
One of the most versatile items you can carry. Use it as a beanie during those cold nights, or wet it and wear it around your neck during the hot days. It’s a lifesaver on those long stretches of trail when you need to cool down.

🧦 VOETWOL
This was my first time using VoetWol, and what a difference it made! It helped save me and two other hikers from developing painful blisters. Your feet are your most important piece of equipment on a multi-day hike, so look after them!

After this hike, I can honestly say I wouldn’t hike the Fish River Canyon without these three items. 🥾🔥
