**Korentepoort Tour – Kicking Off 2026 in True Adventure Style**
We launched our 2026 riding season with one of our all‑time favourite destinations: the legendary Korentepoort. The day greeted us with near‑perfect weather—warm, a touch humid but absolutely ideal for a full day in the saddle.
Our route carried us through McGregor and onward to Swellendam, where we stopped for a well‑earned lunch. Spirits were high, bikes were running beautifully and from there the real magic began. The stretch from Swellendam to Korentepoort wound along the Duiwenhoks River—twist after twist of pure riding bliss. Towering trees, rolling hills and that unmistakable feeling of being wrapped in nature set the tone for the rest of the trip. It wasn’t just a ride, it was a soul‑reset.
As we arrived at Korentepoort Dam, every single rider had the same reaction—silence, awe, then grins. Nestled beneath the Sleeping Beauty mountain the dam was breathtaking a postcard‑perfect end to a phenomenal day’s ride.
That evening started out exactly as it should: fires blazing, glasses clinking, laughter echoing through the campsite. And then, for once the weather forecast got it right. The rain rolled in. But if adventure riding teaches you anything, it’s to adapt and keep the vibe alive. We shifted the party under cover and the stories flowed as freely as the rain outside. When dinner came around, everyone tucked into a seriously good 300g steak with our secret garlic potatoes and veg—comfort food done right after a long day on the road.
It rained relentlessly through the night and Sunday morning welcomed us with a soft drizzle. The roads were soaked and slippery but with only ±10 km of dirt before hitting tar, we rode out carefully and confidently. Once we reached the tar, we headed to Ou Meul in Riversdal for breakfast and warm coffee—just what the morning called for.
With heavier rain predicted, everyone decided to head their separate ways home, wrapping up another unforgettable adventure.
Another incredible tour. Another chapter added to the memories. And as always—awesome people made it an awesome ride
