💛Behind Lemontree are three passionate owners; Daniel, Catherine, and Carol - who each bring their own unique experience and love for people into the café. While their journeys in hospitality differ, they all share the same vision: creating a place where guests feel welcomed, looked after, and truly satisfied.
🌳The idea for Lemontree had been years in the making. For over a decade, the dream of opening a café together was always there – and when the opportunity arose at the nursery, it felt like the perfect fit. With Catherine and Carol’s deep love for plants and nature, the setting couldn’t have been more aligned with what they had imagined.
Like many small businesses, Lemontree was built from the ground up – hands-on, with plenty of learning along the way. Today, the team proudly credits not only their journey, but also their incredible staff, who form the heart and backbone of the café experience.
What keeps customers coming back? It’s the combination of warm, attentive service, generous portions, and a menu that offers something a little different-all enjoyed in a calm, welcoming space surrounded by nature.

So, who better to introduce than the man behind one of Gordon's Bay's most loved hidden gems...
MEET RICHARD FROM MOUNTAIN STREAM NURSERY

Just 3 km from the beach, along Sir Lowry's Pass Road, you'll find Mountain Stream Nursery – a place that's so much more than a nursery. It's a destination where beautiful plants, friendly faces, and a warm community atmosphere come together.

At the heart of it all is Richard Bellas, the owner and passionate gardener who has lovingly grown Mountain Stream Nursery into what it is today.

Richard's journey began in nature conservation and horticulture before he purchased the nursery in 1997. Over the past three decades, he's transformed it into a thriving garden haven complete with an incredible team and the much-loved Lemon Tree Coffee Shop, where visitors can relax with great coffee and delicious food surrounded by nature.

For Richard, this has never been "just a job." His passion for plants, people, and creating beautiful spaces shines through in every corner of the nursery.

The days are getting warmer, gardens are waking up, and it's the perfect time to plant, prepare, and get ready for a spectacular flowering season. 🌼🌷As we welcome spring, now is the time to pop in for gardening inspiration, stock up on seasonal plants, and enjoy a peaceful morning at Lemon Tree.

🌿Have You Discovered Anchorage Park's Hidden River Walk? 🐕🚶‍♀️

One of Gordon's Bay's best-kept little secrets is the beautiful River Walk winding through the Anchorage Park greenbelt.

This easy 3 km loop meanders alongside the Sir Lowry's Pass River, offering a peaceful escape right in the middle of the neighbourhood. It's perfect for:
🐾 Walking the dog
🏃‍♀️ A morning stroll or gentle jog
🌿 Enjoying nature
💪 Stopping off at the outdoor Gym Park for a workout
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A family walk

The trail is accessible from several points throughout Anchorage Park, making it easy to explore from wherever you are.

🌱 Did You Know?

The greenbelt is far more than just open space between houses. It forms part of Gordon's Bay's planned public open-space network, creating an important natural corridor where our neighbourhood meets mountain fynbos and protected conservation land.

Just nearby lies Harmony Flats Nature Reserve, home to one of the last remaining patches of the critically endangered Lourensford Alluvium Fynbos, making this greenbelt an important ecological link.

🏡 A Little History

Before Anchorage Park became the neighbourhood we know today, this land formed part of the historic Gustrouw farm, dating back to the early 1700s. The area was once used for livestock grazing and fishing, with early settlers harvesting fish along the False Bay coastline.

Today, the greenbelt follows the natural course of the river from the outskirts of Anchorage Park towards the sea, connecting parks, pathways and quiet neighbourhood spaces along the way.
