Some highlights from the last six weeks on drive. Between tracking the cats and catching the smaller details on the ground, it’s been a solid stretch out in the bush. Kwandwe #ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏᴅᴜᴍᴘ

Proof that even the fastest land animal has intrusive thoughts.

Taking their morning walk like they own the place… which, to be fair, they do.

Elephants owning the road like they pay toll fees.
Lions bringing down a kudu with precision and power.
Then later, full bellies and nap faces like they didn’t just cause chaos.
And of course — the leopard. Showed up just long enough to haunt our egos and remind us who really runs the hide-and-seek game out here.

Just a casual reminder: nature doesn’t rehearse.

Tensions rising in the grasslands 🐆💥
This isn’t just a mother and son having a moment—it’s the beginning of dispersal.

As young leopards approach independence, usually between 18–24 months, they start the gradual (and often awkward) process of leaving their mother’s territory. This young male is likely in that phase now—testing boundaries, trailing behind, maybe even hoping for a free meal. But mom? She’s not having it.

Dispersal is critical in leopard ecology—it prevents inbreeding, encourages genetic diversity, and pushes young males to find and establish their own territories, often far from where they were born. It’s risky, lonely, and full of lessons—but it’s how new legends are born.

Out here earning our blisters and bragging rights—just another day of trails training in the wild. Walking the walk, talking the tracks, and soaking up every dusty, beautiful step.
