💦 Kei Mouth Water Update & Community Efforts:

As many of you know, our beautiful village is currently facing ongoing water challenges. While this is not an easy situation, it’s been encouraging to see the community come together and take positive steps forward.

Progress on Alternative Water Sources:
We’re pleased to share that HP NEL Drilling arrived in Kei Mouth and is actively assisting residents. They’ve already had great success:
Palm Cottage – strong water supply found at 160m
Heritage Farm – water found at 80m

Water Supply Over the Long Weekend:
We’ve received an update from Amathole that water will be made available to the community over the long weekend. However, dam levels will be closely monitored. If usage becomes too high and levels drop significantly, supply may need to be reduced. Should that happen, communication will be shared promptly.

A Gentle Reminder:
We kindly ask everyone—residents and visitors alike—to please continue using water sparingly. Every drop truly counts, and small efforts from each of us make a big difference.

Looking Ahead:
Even in challenging times, Kei Mouth continues to show its strength, resilience, and community spirit. With ongoing efforts and responsible use, we remain hopeful for more sustainable solutions ahead.

Thank you to everyone playing their part 🙏🏼 fans

Water update. Amatola Water have kindly agreed to relax water restrictions in Kei Mouth for the Easter weekend. From Friday to Monday, water will not be rationed so that our holiday makers may enjoy their time with us to the full.

We are very grateful to Amatola Water. Let’s use this concession responsibly and use our precious water sparingly.

We wish you a lovely Easter.

In Kei Mouth, Easter isn’t just chocolate—it’s music, art, and family fun all rolled into one 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

Every year, the Kei Lily Festival brings in craft beers and gins from Table 58, mouthwatering street food from a range of local vendors, and a cornucopia of tempting treats, gifts, and works of art 🎨.

This year, the art extends beyond the main street, tumbling onto the beach in the form of sand sculptures by the ingenious Supersandman.

And that’s not all. Bringing back the tradition of live music at The Bushpig, Kei Mouth is delighted to welcome Black Mamba Man, an artist known as much for his storytelling and humour as his brilliant music 🎶.

Of course, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without Jesus, and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to come together in fellowship and celebrate the true meaning of Easter, with services of various denominations.

It’s a lot more than eggs and bunnies.

Any reason you WON’T be here?

Looking forward to seeing you in Kei Mouth this holiday.

We are happy to assure all potential visitors that, while we are experiencing "water shedding" to control supply levels, our water is being well managed. There is water every morning and evening and many of the rental properties also have tank water. If in doubt please contact your hosts.

Sadly, there has been a lot of disinformation and confusion about the situation, so Mor Kei Echo has prepared a short article, with the help of the amazing Water Crisis Committee, about the latest. Find it in the link below.
