And we’re on the brink of doing just that.
Thanks to the efforts of many different individuals, businesses, and community groups, Kei Mouth is now a finalist in the Eastern Cape division of the 2026 Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar competition! 🌊
We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved together... but you could make us even prouder.
Over the next few days, we'll be sharing how you can help put our little seaside village on the national map. If we win, it means not only R1 million to invest in our village, but also the kind of national recognition that benefits everyone who calls this special place home, and even those for whom it’s a home away from home.

We are so excited to have been voted the Eastern Cape Finalist in Kwela’s Dorp van die Jaar competition. Thank you so much to everyone who voted. We will be calling on you again from 13th July to help us win the overall competition. Watch this space. Meanwhile, grab a cup of something warm, put your feet up for ten minutes and remember why we all love Kei Mouth so much. 💕💕💕

💦 Kei Mouth Water Update & Community Efforts:

As many of you know, our beautiful village is currently facing ongoing water challenges. While this is not an easy situation, it’s been encouraging to see the community come together and take positive steps forward.

Progress on Alternative Water Sources:
We’re pleased to share that HP NEL Drilling arrived in Kei Mouth and is actively assisting residents. They’ve already had great success:
Palm Cottage – strong water supply found at 160m
Heritage Farm – water found at 80m

Water Supply Over the Long Weekend:
We’ve received an update from Amathole that water will be made available to the community over the long weekend. However, dam levels will be closely monitored. If usage becomes too high and levels drop significantly, supply may need to be reduced. Should that happen, communication will be shared promptly.

A Gentle Reminder:
We kindly ask everyone—residents and visitors alike—to please continue using water sparingly. Every drop truly counts, and small efforts from each of us make a big difference.

Looking Ahead:
Even in challenging times, Kei Mouth continues to show its strength, resilience, and community spirit. With ongoing efforts and responsible use, we remain hopeful for more sustainable solutions ahead.
