If you’ve holidayed in Malongane before, you’ll know it’s a small village where shopping options are limited.

But here’s something handy to know for your next visit!

📍 Right in Ponta Malongane village, you’ll find:

💊 Malongane Pharmacy – Convenient if you need medication, first-aid supplies or other pharmacy essentials.

🛒 Local is Lekker Supermercado – A small convenience store where you can pick up basic groceries and everyday essentials.

Our GoBundu tip: Although it’s great having these shops nearby, we still recommend bringing your groceries, drinks and other holiday essentials with you. Malongane isn’t the place for a big grocery shop, and stock and selection can be limited.

It’s always reassuring to know where to go if you’ve forgotten something!

Missing Mozambique yet? 🌴

The school holidays are over, the kids are back at school and for most of us, it’s back to work.

So here’s a little something to get you thinking about the next Mozambique holiday…

This is Cutta Corner, a tiny local restaurant tucked away in Ponta Mamoli.

Nothing fancy — and that’s part of its charm. There’s a swimming pool, a little bar and plenty of relaxed seating around the pool and inside.

The menu is simple and very local. Fresh fish is the star of the show — the Mozambican owner heads out on his kayak most days to catch fish to serve at the restaurant. You’ll also find calamari and a few other Portuguese-style local dishes.

📍 If you’re heading towards Aloha or Baleia Azul in Ponta Mamoli, you can’t really miss it — you’ll drive straight past.

🚙 Important: You need a 4×4 to get here. If you’re staying in Ponta do Ouro or Ponta Malongane without a 4×4, this isn’t somewhere you’ll be able to reach easily.

If you’re in Ponta Malongane these holidays, you HAVE to try the pão! 🇲🇿

Before the sun is even up, the staff at the little bakery in Ponta Malongane village are already baking the day’s fresh pão — the local Portuguese-style bread rolls.

Warm, fresh and delicious, they’re one of those simple Mozambique treats you just don’t get back home in South Africa.

Our tip: get there early! They’re baked fresh daily and you don’t want to arrive after they’re gone.

📍 You’ll find the bakery in Ponta Malongane village, on the road heading towards Ponta do Ouro. Malongane is small — just keep an eye out for the big blue BAKERY painted on the wall.

Already in Malongane? Add a fresh pão run to tomorrow morning’s plans.
