Statement from Inkosi DMC Regarding the Tragic Incident our Bush Braai Site
We confirm that a tragic incident occurred on 17 June 26 during a bush braai experience at our facility situated within the Kruger National Park.
During the incident, a guest sustained fatal injuries. Emergency services and the relevant authorities responded as soon as they could and the matter is currently under official investigation by SAPS.
Our deepest condolences go to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. Inkosi DMC is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities and all relevant agencies as investigations continue. As criminal proceedings may follow, we are unable to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the incident at this stage.
In light of the seriousness of the incident and to allow for proper cooperation with authorities, our own internal review process, and the provision of support to staff and guests, we have taken the decision to temporarily suspend operations at the site with immediate effect.
We understand the impact this may have on guests, partners, and stakeholders, and we will be communicating directly with all affected parties regarding alternative arrangements and support.
We ask the public and media to respect the privacy of the deceased's family and all individuals affected by this heartbreaking event.
Further information will be provided when appropriate and when confirmed by the relevant authorities.
