Phillipskop Mountain Reserve

Our King Proteas (Protea cynaroides) are flowering up near the highest point. This photo was taken last weekend and as you can see you also get beautiful views back towards Phillipskop and across the Overberg. On a clear day like this you can see not only the sea at Pearly Beach, but the mountains to the east beyond Swellendam, to the west above Sir Lowry's Pass and to the north near Franschhoek. The walk is only about 3km if you take the shortest steepest route, but you can do a longer more gradual climb via the Hidden Valley too. Did you miss out last week? They are screening another open air movie on Wed this week at The Last Resort Blue Moon Farm. Arrive at 7pm for a 7:30 start of 'The Greatest Showman'. All welcome. Bring deckchairs, blankies, picnics and drinks. Popcorn, coffee and hot choc for sale at R10. All donations welcome and everything goes to the Grootbos Foundation. See you there!
