I managed to do two outings with clients, Sunday and Monday. On Sunday it was off to the Agulhas plains searching for the Agulhas Long Billed Lark. I worked my way through some of the most pristine fynbos, passing through places like Pearly Beach, Die Dam, Wolwengat, Baardskeerderbos, through Flower Farm coming up the back side of Grootbos and then via Stanford and back to Hermanus.
Monday morning I headed West out of Hermanus to do the now famous raptor alley, the Swart Rivier road. It is best to start at sunrise at Gabrielskloof Winery. After working the wheat fields I worked my way back to Hermanus and up Rotary Way and then finishing off at Haarde Baai. I will post a few specials from my two day outings. Enjoy.

Sunday was a day out, braving the rain and cooler weather, on a mission to find the Agulhas Long Billed Lark. Sadly we dipped.
Today I took 4 eager ladies on a trip beginning at 06h00, to find a few Overberg Endemics. At 06h30 we hit the gravel road at Gabrielskloof, & within 5 minutes we were in sight of a patrolling Black Harrier. The tone was set for the morning.

What a special birding weekend in the Overstrand, looking for 4 specials and they all delivered, Cape and Sentinel Rock Thrush, my favourite, Cape Rock Jumper and the rarely seen, sometimes heard and hardly ever photographed, Victorin's Warbler. These 4 beauts are all Endemics.

Just completed a search for my hometown favourite, the Cape Rock Jumper, and after a hour searching i was rewarded with Mr and Mrs. It is always a priviledge finding these birds high up in the mountains because they invite you into their domain. With a little patience and coaxing i can get to within a metre of these little beauts.

World Albatross Day, 19 June 2020, first ever. I will post a series of my Albatross pics. These are special birds soaring the great southern oceans. Living on the Southern tip of Africa i have had the privilege to photograph these majestic gliders of the deep blue.

Hi All, Covid has woken me up, apologies for no posts for a long period. I will start by posting a few local Overberg birds. I will, in the next few days, post stories, a bit about my bird tours and photographic tours. Please feel free to ask any bird related questions. Enjoy the first of the lock down edition of photographs.
